Kobus and Louise got married at the in the St. Mary’s Church in Stellenbosch and their reception were held at the Asara Wine Estate & Hotel. Louise looked so beautiful in her dress. A marimba band entertained the guest while canapés & drinks were served. I ended off the day with a last few shot of the couple at the bar.

Since I moved over to the new blog, there were a few glitches on this blog that were reported by people who visited the site. All the old posts from my old blog were not displaying any pictures when you visit the archives or any of the categories. This is finally sorted out now! Thank you to everyone who notified me on this matter and waiting patiently for the problem to be fixed. Now you can view all my older post from my old blog.
Here is wedding post number 2 for the day. Here are some of the great moments captured at Jorge & Lariana’s wedding. Jorge is originally from Angola and Lariana is a local girl. Lariana got ready at the Villa Bantry Bay. The beautiful villa with a combination of the clear blue sky and sea made a stunning backdrop to photograph the bridal shots before the wedding. Their ceremony took place in the Lady of Good Hope Chatolic Church in Sea Point. On the way to the venue we went stopped for some photos in the colourful Bo Kaap. The reception was held at the Vineyard Hotel & Spa in Newlands. Since there were a lot of friends and family from Angola, all the speeches were translated into Portuguese. My favorite shots from the wedding was those photograph in the hotel. Enjoy…

I have two weddings to post today and here is the first one. Jon & Alana had their wedding celebration on a hot summer’s day at Vedenheim. A big tent was set up on the lawn to give the guests a nice, cool sheltered environment. All the guest received a tin full of pink and silver M&M sweets with their initials printed on the one side and the wedding date on the other. Here are some of my favorite shots. I met Will and Kate at beach in Llandudno for a couple session before they head back home to the UK. They were here in South Africa on vacation visit family and to plan their wedding that will take place in 2011 at Molenvliet. Because the tide came in, we hopped around from rock to rock to get to nice spots. I really love the beach at Llandudno. It is just one of many beautiful spots along our coastline. Here are some of the images of the day.

A new wedding for a new year! I am excited about this post, because it is my first wedding in Johannesburg. It feels weird to be photographing a wedding in a different location and climate than what your used to. But as soon as the day started the photography instinct kicked in and everything was back to normal.
John & Stephany had a beautiful marriage ceremony at the Anglican Church at St. John’s College and their reception was held at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Sandton. We have two totaly different locations (traditional and modern) that gave me a lot of variety to use for their pictures. Stephany had such a natural and beautiful smile that it was easy it very easy to take portraits of her.
Thank you Stephany & John for flying me up to Joburg to photograph your wedding. You two make a lovely couple and it is both your spontaneity that gave these images fun. When I made my selection for the blog, I chose more black & white images than color. Enjoy the rest of the post…

Feels like yesterday that I photographed a wedding at Clouds Estate, Stellenbosch. This time I photographed Pieter & Terice’s wedding at the beautiful estate. One can fall quickly into the habit of photographing the same shots at the same spot, but different locations gave me new inspiration. Their wedding had a French theme and each of the guests received a little Baguette (French Bread) with a name tag on their plates. A great band, great food and colorful lights set the mood for the festive evening. It was wonderful to photograph Terice. A girl with a beautiful smile brings out the fun in pictures. Enjoy the pictures and have a great festive Christmas.

Here is another beautiful wedding on a clear sunny day. Lizanne (SA) and Aaron (Aus) met each other when they where working in London. Lizanne moved to Brisbane, Australia, with Aaron where they got married and had a small ceremony. They recently returned to give their South African family and friends a beautiful wedding ceremony at Bodega Restaurant, Dornier Wines, Stellenbosch. She was escorted to the wedding in a beautiful Ford Mustang (one of my favorite cars). Their pre-drinks was held under big trees. The branches were decorated with fabric hearts giving it a relaxed, picnic feeling. We waited for the day to cool of to photographed their couple.
Here is something funny. One of our best friend, Erna (also staying in Brisbane, Australia) is also friends with Lizanne. When Erna asked her who will be taking her wedding pictures (without knowing who the photographer will be), Lizanne answer the I will be taking their wedding pictures. What a small world!

This was one of my favorite beach wedding that I have photographed. Anton & Gwen both love the sea and that is why they chose Strandkombuis in Yzerfontein as their venue. I loved the fact that the venue is so close to the beach (almost on the beach) and they serve really great seafood for the guests to eat. The beautiful white beach house where Gwen got dressed was such a great location the photos off. There was also a breathtaking sunset that evening. I am not too good with sunset or landscape photography, but I have never spend so much time focusing on some great sunset shots. That was great fun. What can I say… I really loved this experience. The West Coast of South Africa has an unique beauty to it and it’s worth it to make a road trip up that way. Big thanks to Gwen & Anton for being part of your beautiful day. I love the last shot of the post. I photographed it on the dance floor with very little available light, but I love the colors.

Here are some of my favorite images from Alan & Mari’s wedding. The couple pictures was taken on Mari’s family farm. What a beautiful location. From the farm house to the vineyards, I really had enjoyed shooting there. The setting really fitted in to the vintage look of the wedding. Their reception was held at Kronenburg. It was also great to have my wife, Zani, on my site to assisting me.
